The Mayor of London is urging the Airports Commission to consider the potential for a new hub airport in the Thames Estuary and the redevelopment of the existing Heathrow site. I project managed the design and delivery, and created content for ‘Heathrow City: developing the vision’ – an exhibition at the NLA, a publication, website and a series of Think Tanks to explore, generate content and raise awareness of this proposal.
Three leading architectural practices – Hawkins\Brown, Maccreanor Lavington and Rick Mather Architects – have been tasked with visualising the potential of the proposed ‘vacant’ Heathrow site to provide new homes, jobs and a vibrant new destination for London. Their ideas are being showcased in an exhibition at the NLA from 15 July – 09 August 2014.
